During the course of the job a Health and Safety audit was undertaken by Auckland City Council , who reviewed all our set up and procedures .

We are proud to announce as result of this was our Site Safety Supervisor, Todd Symes ( TJ) was awarded the 1^st ever commendation issued by Auckland City, commending him and Drain Surgeons Ltd for maintaining a high standard of safety throughout the duration of the job .

There is a big difference between drain surgery and the job done by other surgeons, however with our drains being the connecting system for some of our most important services, the part Drain Surgeons play is an integral one.

Aptly named, Drain Surgeons was established more than 20 years ago to provide domestic and industrial drainage services for the greater Auckland region, while maintaining national capability. But after the 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Christchurch September 4, 2010, its machinery and equipment was in demand in the region and eventually the company set up a permanent base in Christchurch to assist with the rebuild of the quake ravaged city.

“There’s two sides to the company; our domestic services division and the commercial side which works for many local councils, Watercare Services and many of  the major construction companies.

“We provide a wide range of services for Watercare, cleaning and CCTV inspections on the big trunk waste lines.”

A current project has the company in Suva, working for the Fijian Government. “We have supplied them with advanced Hi Tech CCTV equipment and Hydro blasting units, built to their specifications, along with our own operators to train and implement long term training programmes.
“The contract was won on our industry experience and capability to deliver on time, to specification .”

It is experience which comes from fulfilling a wide range of services. “Our services range from the unblocking of your toilet, shower, sink, septic tank, gully traps, grease traps to larger public sewer and stormwater networks, CCTV surveying / fault location and vacuum loading. We pride ourselves on being able to undertake and complete the most complicated job specifications.

CCTV inspections

Council CCTV video surveying
If you are planning to carry out building work, maybe a sub-division, new pool, deck or alteration, you may be required to provide CCTV footage of the drains on your property. Drain Surgeons can provide this service to council requirements
